Judged By Our Love of God
Colossians 4:5-6 -Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
Many people become Christians due to the influence of a Christian family member, pastor, church member, friend, acquaintance, or a co-worker. You might ask them what was the main characteristics of the individual who influenced them or attracted them to Christ, most would refer to being a keen, unworldly sense of love, caring, and acceptance. The means and ways of witnessing may differ from one person to another. Alot of common characteristic traits are showing genuine concern, interest, love of God, joy, and a zeal to see them saved.
Treating the unbeliever in a biblical fashion is not easy for some Christians. We operate on such different standards and think on such contrasting wavelengths that compatibility can be quite difficult. Our level of confidence, Christian maturity or level of passion for the lost are some of the determining factors in our personal witness. God often uses ordinary Christians as His instruments to proclaim the gospel of Christ. The Great Commission commands all Christians to be witnesses. We all can tell our own personal story of salvation.
The non-Christian is just like you before you were saved, dead in sin and separated from God. The love of God can be clearly communicated to the unbeliever through upright conduct, positive conversation, and a servant spirit. We can open our bowels of compassion in meeting a need they might have. We can be a shoulder to cry on. We can go the extra mile for the glory of God. We can minister to the sick, lonely, widows, widowers, orphans, poor, prisoners, and needy in many walks of life. They need to hear the words, Jesus loves you.
Don’t judge those around you who are not Christians. Focus instead on releasing the love of Christ through your daily lifestyle. That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights to the world. Ph. 2:15. For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. Ja. 3:2. In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works; in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you. Titus 2:7-8.
Everybody needs the Lord even people who seemingly resist all transparent open sincere offers. The love and grace of God expressed through your words, and deeds can be amazingly used by Him in many wonderful ways. We lift Him up in this manner whereas He will draw all men unto Him. Hallelujah!
~~~Lord, thank you for the opportunity given me this day to share kind words with others, and allowing me to express your love for all mankind. I give you all the glory, honor, and praise. Hallelujah! Amen~~~
