He has showed you, o man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. – Micah 6:8 (NIV)
We are to act justly and to love mercy, and walk humbly with God. So, what does that mean to us? At least for those of us that want to follow Jesus. It comes down to this; to act justly we need to be consistent with what is morally right and to be honorable and fair in our dealings. To love mercy, we are to love the fact that God has spared us from judgment because of what Jesus did on the cross. Then we need to be free of pride and arrogance in our lives.
So, we need to have moral values that lead us to be honorable and fair in all that we do, love the fact that God has spared us from judgment for accepting Jesus as our Savior and live our lives free of pride and arrogance.
I pray that each of us that worship Jesus will follow those simple but yet important words from God. If we each live our lives like this, what a better world would we be living in? I ask that each of you pray for your families, friends, our leaders, pastors, president and vice president, congress, courts and state government officials to all have our eyes opened to these truths and learn to live these requirements out.
As always, pray in Jesus name for our nation, our government, the fatherless, the widows, the poor and the orphans.
